SIP
A Python/C++ Bindings Generator
SIP is a tool for generating bindings for C++ classes so that they
can be accessed as normal Python classes. SIP takes many of its ideas
from SWIG but, because it is specifically designed for C++ and Python,
is able to generate tighter bindings.
It's part of Phil Thompsonīs
marvelous
PyQt / PyKde package. I think its really great stuff and
well worth more attention and other application. It is work in
progress though and therefore still lacking its documentation.
When I started learning and playing with SIP, I took some notes which
eventually grew into a preliminary documentation. Though I still consider it
a framework and starting point only, it might already be helpful to others.
So feel free to use the sources or read it
online but be warned:
its still very incomplete and probably contains numerous errors.
I appreciate any feedback or contribution, please contact
me.
